mBank Campaign to Support UPAWS

MARQUETTE, Mich., November 29, 2018 – mBank is pleased to announce a new community focused campaign that will benefit the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter or UPAWS. For each new qualifying CD, checking, savings, or money market account opened at an Upper Peninsula mBank branch December 1, 2018 through February 15, 2019, $100 will be donated to UPAWS.

Additionally, mBank has committed to sponsoring adoption days at UPAWS on December 20, 2018 and February 14, 2019 where all adoption fees will be covered by the bank, collecting shelter supplies at each of its UP branches, and is launching a social media campaign on Facebook where every new page like mBank receives will equal an additional $1 donation to UPAWS.

“We are absolutely ecstatic about partnering with mBank,” explained Kori Tossava, UPAWS Executive Director/Capital Campaign Manager. “UPAWS’ vision is to create a community where there are no abandoned, homeless, or abused animals. It takes a cooperative spirit to fulfill the goal of a shelter that serves our animal companion needs and the community as a whole, and we are grateful to mBank for this generous commitment.”

“Contributing to help UPAWS aligns with mBank’s mission to give back to the local communities we serve. UPAWS is also very near and dear to many of our employees’ hearts,” explained Kelly W. George, mBank President and CEO. We are happy to be able to partner with UPAWS and support the incredible work they do advocating for animals and the safe haven they provide while finding these animals their lifelong homes.”
